Elements of the Sole of the Right Foot

Step 07-1

Slide the narrower end of the Internal Stabilizer Joint over the rounded tab of the Internal Stabilizer, aligning them as shown.

The number ‘3’ marked on the Internal Stabilizer Joint should be facing down here:

Secure these parts together with one (1) HP screw.

Do not over-tighten the screws in this issue. Not only are these parts plastic, but some of these screws act as pivot points to allow parts to move:

Step 07-2

Slide the open end of the Internal Stabilizer Joint over this rounded tab of the Right Foot Sole Structure (R), orienting them as shown:

Secure this Joint into place with one (1) FP screw.

Fit this screw into the hole by hand first:

Then, drive it home by putting the screwdriver through this opposite hole in the Sole Structure:

Step 07-3

Retrieve your Rear Stabilizer assembly from Issue 05. Slide the open end of the Stabilizer Joint over this rounded tab of the Right Foot Sole Structure (R), orienting it as shown:

Secure this Joint into place with one (1) FP screw.

Step 07-4

Fit the post on the tab of Right Foot Side Turbine into the matching hole at this location on the Right Foot Sole Structure (R):

Secure this Side Turbine into place from below with one (1) silver IP screw:

This Turbine should be rotated at the post so it is parallel to the Sole Structure, as shown:

Step 07-5

Press the Outer Instep Gear onto the wide pin of the Middle Instep Gear, as shown:

Next, press the narrow pin of the Middle Instep Gear into the matching hole of the Inner Instep Gear, as shown:

Then, retrieve your Right Foot assembly from Issue 04 and press this entire Instep Gear assembly onto the matching post at this left-side location of the Foot.

This notch of the Inner Instep Gear

… matches this alignment tab of the Right Foot:

Align these together as you press the Instep Gear assembly into place:

Step 07-6

Gently, but firmly, press the three pins of the Right Foot Auger into the matching holes at this location on the Right Foot assembly.

UPDATE: As this Auger will need to be removed in a later stage to attach the Leg, you may want to simply leave this part off for now:

Step 07-7

Press the two holes of the Outer Disc onto these matching pins of the Right Foot Auger.

The holes in this Outer Disc are off center:

This should be attached with the holes closer to the front of the Foot (more of the disc to the rear of the pins), as shown:

Thoughts

We just keep adding more details to this Right Foot! We will continue to work on this foot for at least the next two issues, so keep it nearby.
