Build

Pelvis (5) and Torso (2)

Step 28-1

Retrieve your Left Side of Pelvis assembly from Issue 25. Fit the large pin of the Lower Fixed Connection into these matching circular recesses, orienting it as shown:

Next, cover this large pin with the Lower Fixed Connection Bracket.

This Bracket has square cutouts on one side:

These cutouts match the shape of the Pelvis assembly at the end of the large pin, as shown:

Then, secure this Bracket to the Pelvis with two (2) BM screws.

The tighter you make these screws, the stiffer this joint will be. This also is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 28-2

Fit the large pin of the Upper Fixed Connection into these matching circular recesses of the Upper Fixed Connection Bracket B, as shown:

Cover this Bracket B with Upper Fixed Connection Bracket A, capturing the large pin in between:

Secure these Brackets together with four (4) WP screws.

As before, the tighter these screws, the stiffer this joint will be. However, take care not to make them so tight that they strip out the plastic:

Thoughts

This long Upper Fixed Connection will eventually support the arms/shoulders of our Optimus Prime and is therefore made of metal.
