The Right Leg (9)

Step 18-1

Retrieve your Right Leg assembly from the previous issue. Fit the two posts of the Lower Leg End Cap A into the matching holes of this tab of the Hinge Part (13E), orienting it as shown:

Secure this End Cap A into place with two (2) GM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal.

Step 18-2

Fit the Lower Leg End Cap B to the End Cap A, matching the screw posts together as shown:

Secure these End Caps together with two (2) BM screws. There is one to install on each side, as shown:

Step 18-3

Slide the white Silicone Washer for Ankle Joint over the end of this End Cap assembly, stopping at this point as shown:

Step 18-4

Fit the top post of the Ankle Structure B into the hole at the end of the End Caps, resting up against the Silicone Washer as shown:

Next, fit the Ankle Structure A to the Ankle Structure B, capturing the Silicone Washer in between as shown. Then, secure these Structures together with two (2) BM screws:

Finally, slide the two black Rubber Washers for Ankle Joint over the end of the Ankle Structures and into the matching grooves, as shown:

Thoughts

This completes the assembly of the upper Right Leg, but we are far from being done with it yet. Over the next few issues, we will attach it to our Right Foot and add the final armor plates and other details. Then, we will begin on the Pelvis of our Optimus Prime. Excellent!
