The Right Leg (7)

Step 16-1

Feed the ball end of the Upper Leg Ball Joint through this matching hole of the Thigh Wheel Frame until the rounded tabs align with the screw posts, as shown:

Secure this Ball Joint into place with two (2) MP screws:

Then, align the small eyelet of the Upper Leg Wheel Arm inside these tabs of the Thigh Wheel Frame, orienting it as shown:

Secure this Wheel Arm into place with one (1) QP screw, as shown.

Make sure this screw passes through the Wheel Arm and into the opposite tab of the Wheel Frame:

Step 16-2

Retrieve your Right Leg assembly from Issue 14. Fit the large eyelet of the Upper Leg Wheel Arm over this post on the outer side of the Leg, orienting the Arm as shown:

Slide a Wheel Arm Washer over the threads of one (1) HM screw…

… then and use these to secure the Wheel Arm into place, as shown.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 16-3

Firmly press the three pins of the Lower Thigh Plate into these matching posts on the outer side of the Leg, as shown:

Step 16-4

Press the pins of the Front Plate End Cap into the matching holes at this location on the Upper Front Thigh Plate.

The orientation of the End Cap pins/holes will only allow this to be installed one way:

Next, fit the post of the Secondary Thigh Plate into the nearby hole of the Upper Front Thigh Plate, as shown:

Then, secure this Secondary Thigh Plate into place from the other side with one (1) MP screw:

Step 16-5

Firmly press the two pins of the Upper Front Thigh Plate assembly into the matching posts at this front location of the Leg, as shown.

You may have to rotate the Secondary Thigh Plate out of the way to fully fit this assembly in place:

Step 16-6

Firmly press the three pins of the Lower Thigh Front Detail into the matching posts at this front Leg location below the previous part:

Step 16-7

This Ball Joint gives this Tire the ability to be adjusted into various positions, as desired:

Thoughts

This thigh of our Optimus Prime is bigger than I thought it would be. I still love all the small details that make this model stand out!
