The Right Leg (6)
Fit the Inner Rim to the Outer Rim, aligning the screw holes as shown.
With my model, these parts were already fitted together, so you might need to check if yours are the same:
Secure the two Rims together with four (4) silver IP screws:
Fit this Rim assembly inside the Tire by stretching it around the edge.
This will be nearly impossible without heating the Tire first – soak the Tire in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes to soften it:
Take care when removing the Tire to prevent any burns, dry the Tire off, and then it should easily slip onto the Rim as shown:
Firmly press the four pins of the Hubcap into the matching holes of the Outer Rim, as shown:
Fit the Wheel Cover over the side of the Tire with the Hubcap, as shown. There are six tabs around inside the Wheel Cover that should slide into the matching grooves around the outer edge of the Tire:
If you find your Wheel Cover is not perfectly round, you can also soften it by soaking it for a few minutes in hot water, just like the Tire:
Then, it should easily slide over the Tire and hold the proper shape. The silver bars of the Wheel Cover should rest on the Outer Rim, as shown:
We enjoyed a small break from working with the large Leg assembly in this issue, but this Tire will be attached to it in the next issue.
